Keep Shropshire Warm offers top-up of your loft insulation to the appropriate depth of 270mm (about 10.1/2") of mineral wool and cavity wall insulation.
The loft insulation cost of £89 applies if your loft has less than 60mm (about 2.1/2") of existing insulation. If you have over 60mm the cost will be £199. Both prices are highly subsidised but as of Autumn 2012 these subsidies are due to finish so the time to act is now! Most properties will be covered by the typical maximum area covered by the grant. Where the maximum area is exceeded an additional charge may be made but this would be advised in advance at the time of the survey. The surveyor will clarify all matters prior to any work being arranged.
Keep Shropshire Warm also offers cavity wall insulation from £89.
Loft top-ups and cavity wall insulation can be free if you meet the criteria of being over 70 years of age or in receipt of particular benefits.
If you are over 70 or in receipt of particular benefits both the square metreage and also the amount of existing insulation present could mean you are not entitled to receiving the installation completely free of charge.
